Putin: Russia thinks about leaving Black Sea grain deal

MOSCOW, Jun 13 (PRIME) -- Moscow is thinking about leaving the Black Sea Grain Initiative, and the fact that Ukraine uses the grain corridor for drone attacks on Russia does not help the situation, President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday during a meeting with military correspondents.

“We are thinking about leaving the grain deal especially since the enemy is constantly using the corridors through which the ships sail to launch naval drones,” he said.

The world has again fooled Russia and did nothing to liberalize exports of food and fertilizers. Also, only slightly above 3% of the Ukrainian grain go in the poorest countries, while more than 40% end in the wealth countries of the E.U., Putin said.

Russia participates in the deal not for Ukraine, but for the friendly countries in Africa and Latin America, he said, adding that he planned to discuss the grain deal with several leaders of the African countries very soon.

“The leaders of several African countries are to visit Russia very soon, and we agreed to discuss the relevant problems, and we will most definitely discuss this grain deal,” Putin said, pointing out that Moscow was ready to deliver grain to the poor African countries for free.
